Hello, my name is Kenn
Bradley. I've had the Party Line Mobile Disc Jockey Service since
1984. I was a radio disc jockey from 1980 to 2001.
I started in radio at the age of 15
at K-G-E-N in Tulare, a full service country station. That is when
I worked in my first night club, The Town Hall Club & Restaurant.
From there I worked at various station's, K-Q-I-Q / K-Q-Y-Z, full
service Top-40, (my first F.M.station). Then I went to DeVry Institute
of Technology in Phoenix in the technical program. Upon returning
to the valley I hooked up with K-N-T-N, another full service Top-40
station. While there Americom II bought the station and changed
it to K-Fresno, an oldies but goodies station. I remained there
for 5 years. It was at this time I started my disc jockey service
and started working at a night club called Faces. I was head D.J.
at Faces for two and a half years. While
there I refined my mixing capabilities. I then went to a night club
in Fresno called Tequila Pete's, and occasionally working at Willikers,
doing an oldies night in conjunction with the oldies station. After
5 years at K-Fresno, working in night clubs and operating the Party
Line, I decided to refine my talents, and pursued a full time position
in radio. K-Fig picked me up as an overnight person. After several
months I was promoted to the 6 pm - 11 pm shift. After two years
at K-Fig, K-Jug had an opening for the 7 to midnight shift. I asked
for it and got it. When I left K-Jug I was the assistant AM program
director, music director and morning host on Classic Country AM
1270.
When I first started the Party Line I had a couple of crates of
albums, some cassettes and quite a few 45's. Now the Party Line
boasts over 40,000 Songs, all accessible within 15 seconds on a
state of the art computerized
system. My how things
have changed. Click on the equipment link to see a web shot
of the program I use called PCDJ. In my colleagues' opinion,
I have the most extensive collection in the valley.
My music ranges from Classical, to the Big Band Era, Hit Parade, Oldies, Classic Country, Today's
Country, Classic Rock, the 70's, Today's Top-40, Today's dance tracks,
to Mexican (Banda, Ranchera, Mariachi, Nortena, Grupero, Urban Regional,
Cumbia, Tejano, Salsa, Merengue Reggaeton & Bachata) Hawaiian,
Armenian, Chinese, Portuguese and Jewish. I also have Waltz and
Polka's. Click on the Music link for detailed information on my music collection.
When people ask what kind
of music I have, I say "It's a lot easier to name the styles
I don't have." Then I simply ask what kind they like and name
a few big names in that particular style.
Out of the 40 to 50 dances
a year I do, about 60 to 70 percent are wedding receptions, I also
do wedding ceremonies. The other percentage of parties I do each
year include Christmas parties, class & family reunions, school
functions and special events, such as fairs, retirement parties
and more. To put it in a nut shell, I have music for any reason,
season or occasion. |
